VOCs & Disease
Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, are chemicals produced by metabolic processes in the body and are present in exhaled breath. These VOCs produced by the body are referred to as endogenous, while VOCs produced by the environment are exogenous. Diseases disrupt and change the body's normal metabolic processes, and this disruption is manifested in the endogenous VOC profile.
The Device & VOCs
The device that Biomed Armour is developing will screen for specific diseases by using the specific resonance properties of the target VOCs that we have identified through extensive reviews and research on disease-specific VOC profiles. So, comparing various target VOC profiles associated with specific diseases to healthy VOC profiles based on their resonance properties will allow the device to determine whether the exhaled breath of the user has a VOC profile characteristic of a disease or not.

This device will contain patented technology that is able to capture the target VOCs in the breath that are associated with specific diseases and pre-concentrate the compounds so that they may be analyzed effectively. Once the capsule containing the concentrated VOCs has been inserted into the machine, it will then determine the amount of the specified VOCs present in the exhaled breath through the use of nanosensors that will analyze the resonance properties of the VOCs. This amount will then be compared to healthy VOC profiles. The user will then receive the results from the machine, which will show the percent chance of the user having the disease.
